About the Artist
Damian Arkeveld
Contemporary Stone Sculptor
For over fifteen years, Damian Arkeveld has been shaping stone into works that speak to the enduring qualities of the human experience. Working from his private studio, he creates figurative and abstract sculptures that explore the boundaries between material permanence and emotional transience.
Trained in classical stone carving techniques and informed by contemporary artistic dialogue, Arkeveld's practice centres on the belief that sculpture is not built — it is uncovered. Each piece begins as a conversation with the stone itself, guided by an intuitive understanding of form, weight, and negative space.
His work has been exhibited internationally, acquired by private collectors and public institutions, and installed in architectural settings across Europe and North America. He accepts a limited number of commissions each year, dedicating the time and attention each work demands.
“Silence has shape. My work is simply the attempt to find it.”
